AEGYS DATALYTICS

SECURITY & OPERATIONS

Your data. Your environment.
Clear parameters.

Deploying network analysis also requires clarity about data processing, access, and responsibilities. This page provides the information needed to assess AEGYS Pulse within your organisation.

DATA PROCESSING

Which data goes where.

The appliance captures network traffic at the agreed capture point. Information intended for analysis is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the AEGYS analysis environment in Germany.

Information captured

The confirmed scope includes connection information such as source, destination, time, protocol, and data volume where available in the network traffic provided. More extensive capture is not assumed as standard.

Processing and storage

Information intended for analysis is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the AEGYS analysis environment in Germany. Storage locations, backups, and involved service providers are described in the documents governing the deployment.

Retention and deletion

Retention periods and deletion procedures are defined for the agreed deployment model. The contractual and data protection documents for the specific deployment are authoritative.

Connection information may constitute personal data. Its classification depends on the specific deployment and the applicable data protection framework.

ACCESS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Who works with the information.

The customer team uses the results to assess its own environment. Where AEGYS is involved in analysis and technical interpretation, the responsible team requires the access intended for that work.

An appointed IT or security service provider can be included. Intended access and the involvement of your service providers are agreed before deployment.

APPLIANCE OPERATIONS

Integrated into your environment.

The prepared appliance is connected at the agreed capture point. Your IT team provides the intended network traffic and the required connection to the analysis platform.

Passive capture

The appliance receives a copy of the network traffic provided. It does not block or modify the connections being observed.

Updates and maintenance

Responsibilities, implementation, and any necessary coordination for updates and maintenance are defined for the deployment.

Interruptions

An appliance outage affects capture. An interrupted platform connection affects transmission and therefore the availability of new information for analysis. The specific behaviour is documented for the configuration used.

The technical data path is shown on the AEGYS Pulse architecture page.

ONGOING USE

Agree technology and support to fit.

Continuous data capture and the technical handling of anomalies are separate tasks. For your deployment, we define who assesses the results, how questions are resolved, and what support is included.

Decisions about technical or organisational measures in your environment remain with your organisation and the responsible parties you appoint.

  • Contacts on both sides.
  • Scope and frequency of analysis.
  • Procedure for notable observations.

INTERNAL REVIEW

What your internal review needs.

Technical information, a description of the data processing, and the agreed services are relevant to your organisation’s review.

  • Description of the intended data processing
  • Contractual data processing terms
  • Technical and organisational measures
  • Information about involved service providers
  • Operations and service description

The documents required and provided depend on the agreed scope of the deployment.
