Our mission

Why we exist

In large organizations, the data is there. Logs are collected, systems report all-clear, reports get written. And yet one question lingers — the one that matters most to CISOs and IT owners:

"Is it really over — or is there communication still running in the background that no one is actively watching anymore?"

This question doesn't only come up after an incident. It comes up on a quiet suspicion, before an audit, or wherever detection systems have a blind spot.

In practice, it often stays open. Not because the technology is missing — modern detection platforms can do a lot. But because a clean answer usually demands a new project: licenses, months of implementation, use-case engineering, a SOC team of your own. Exactly when fast clarity is needed, that's not available — neither on time nor on budget.

For the mid-market, the problem gets worse. Many companies with 50 or 500 employees have no SIEM at all — not out of negligence, but because a classic SIEM project with licenses, staff, and maintenance simply isn't viable. The question "what's really happening on our network?" stays just as open there — only without the comfort of having an existing system to check.

AEGYS DATALYTICS AG was founded in 2023 to close the gap between what security tools report — and what's actually happening on a network. A modern security platform with two answers: AEGYS Monitor shows continuously what's running. AEGYS Pentest shows autonomously what would be possible. Both delivered as a service — with hardware on site, analysis where you choose, no implementation project.

IN USE

Who uses AEGYS

Both solutions — AEGYS Monitor and AEGYS Pentest — are used in the mid-market, in enterprises, and by security partners. The industries differ; the two core questions repeat: What's actually happening on the network? And what would be possible for an attacker?

Where AEGYS Monitor fits

Anywhere continuous network visibility is missing — whether because a classic SIEM project is too expensive and too involved, because existing detection has blind spots, or because after an incident a second, independent confirmation is needed.

Where AEGYS Pentest fits

Structurally relevant for industries with compliance-driven testing requirements (healthcare, financial services, critical infrastructure, SaaS providers) and anywhere cyber insurers require regular penetration tests. Also in the mid-market without a formal mandate — when leadership needs a reliable statement on actual exposure.

Structurally fitting profiles

Most of our customers move high individual transaction amounts or process sensitive customer or client data, and communicate digitally with external partners.

LEADERSHIP

The founders

Founded by two people with complementary focuses:
technical depth and customer-facing strategy.

Achim Kraus

Achim Kraus

Co-Founder · Board

Achim has delivered complex security projects for the largest cybersecurity companies. With AEGYS, he brings that experience to where it's concretely needed: to security teams that need a reliable answer after an incident or on a suspicion — without setting up a new project for it.

As the company's technical lead, he questions standards and develops pragmatic approaches: detection that works in reality. Clear, ready to use, without marketing promises the system can't keep.

Gerald Hahn

Gerald Hahn

Co-Founder · Board

Gerald has worked in cybersecurity for over two decades — from the international corporation to the specialized mid-market firm. He knows both the demands of large security organizations and the reality of IT teams short on time and resources.

His standard in customer conversations is clear: translate security questions into understandable decisions — and say honestly when an engagement makes sense and when it doesn't. So customers invest not in tools, but in clarity.

ADVISORY BOARD

Our advisory board

Behind AEGYS DATALYTICS stands an advisory board of unusual depth — figures from science, critical infrastructure, defense, international threat research, and global crisis management. This constellation is more than a formal body: it's expert guidance that forces us to honestly review technical and strategic decisions.

Partners & technology

Partners and technology

AEGYS DATALYTICS works with established technology partners to build a solid technical foundation.

Data sovereignty

Data processing on US infrastructure or in Germany — your choice. No uncontrolled data outflow.

GDPR-grade & ISO-aligned

Data-processing agreement standard. Compliance requirements addressed in a structured way.

Open platform technology

AEGYS is built on proven, vendor-neutral platform technology — open to different sources and protocols. This is how we integrate existing systems and make them more valuable, instead of replacing them.

Honest boundaries

What we don't promise

We believe honest boundaries build more trust than any list of benefits. So we state clearly what we don't deliver:

  1. 1

    We're not a classic SIEM.

We do deliver continuous network visibility — but as a service, without an implementation project and without you having to build your own SOC.

  2. 2

    We don't block attacks.

Protection has to come from existing solutions — firewall, EDR, hardening.

  3. 3

    We don't replace consulting.

We deliver clarity you can base decisions on — the decision itself stays with you.

  4. 4

    We don't promise complete visibility.

What doesn't communicate over the network, we don't see.

AEGYS Monitor and AEGYS Pentest are each focused on their task — and work openly with what you already have. That's exactly why they work fast and independently, without replacing what's already in place.
